What it does
The seo package (Node 22+) provides CLI commands and matching MCP tools: seo report, seo page, seo compare, seo index, seo research, seo data, plus local-only seo crawl and seo internal-links. A free hosted MCP at https://seoskill.dev/mcp uses Google OAuth; the local server runs seo mcp serve. Optional providers cover Bing Webmaster, DataForSEO, Ahrefs and analytics. seo skill install teaches the agent the one-report workflow.
How builders use it
- Run npm i -g seo then seo start to sign in and offer MCP + skill install.
- List properties with seo sites, then seo report --site example.com.
- Drill into one section (e.g. --section quick-wins) or one URL with seo page --url ….
- For agents without a local install, add the hosted MCP URL and complete Google sign-in.
