Invoke (InvokeAI)

Added New

Our verdict

The friendlier alternative to a raw node graph when you want serious local image work: a canvas for in- and out-painting, a gallery, and node workflows when you need them. Apache-2.0 licensed and runs on your own hardware, so it needs a capable GPU. Pick ComfyUI instead if you mainly want API-driven pipelines.

What it does

Invoke runs a locally hosted web server and React UI. It offers a Unified Canvas with in/out-painting and brush tools, node-based workflows you can build and share, board and gallery management, and support for open models including SD 1.5, SDXL, SD 3.5, Flux.1 and Flux.2 variants and Z-Image Turbo. It installs through the Invoke launcher.

How builders use it

  • Install with the Invoke launcher from the GitHub releases page.
  • Generate a base image, then refine areas on the Unified Canvas with inpainting instead of rerolling the whole image.
  • Save a node workflow for a repeatable look and share it with your team.
  • Use boards to keep each project's images and their generation settings together.

What to expect

Finished, edited images from one local tool, with settings you can reproduce later.
