Give your agent a spec-to-ship lifecycle with agent-skills
Added ⧉ Copyable prompt below
Our verdict
The fix for the classic vibe-coding failure of jumping straight to code. Addy Osmani's agent-skills packages spec, plan, build, test, review and ship as slash commands and skills you can install in one line. Browse the list and install only the skills you need; you still review what ships.
- Who it's for
- Vibe coders ready to add structure, and solo devs using Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
- Leverage
- A senior-engineer workflow your agent follows by default
- Effort
- Low

What it does
agent-skills is an open-source collection of engineering skills mapped to the development lifecycle, with slash commands /spec, /plan, /build, /test, /review, /ship and more. Skills also activate by context (for example, building UI triggers the frontend skill). It installs via the open skills CLI into many agents, as a Claude Code plugin, or into Cursor's .cursor/skills folder.
How builders use it
- Browse first: npx skills add addyosmani/agent-skills --list.
- Install a single skill, such as interview-me for requirements or test-driven-development, before taking the whole set.
- In Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add addyosmani/agent-skills, then /plugin install agent-skills@addy-agent-skills.
- Start each feature with /spec, then /plan, and only then /build.
- Use the namespaced /agent-skills:review where it clashes with a built-in command.
What to expect
Features arrive with a written spec, small committed steps and tests, instead of one large unreviewable diff.
Copy this: Install and first run
npx skills add addyosmani/agent-skills --list
